Efecto del diseño e incorporación de un aula virtual basada en realidad virtual para la capacitación de docentes en educación superior

The research analyzed the impact of designing an immersive virtual classroom using virtual reality for teacher training in pedagogical competencies within higher education. As an emerging technology, virtual reality offers new possibilities for teacher development by providing interactive environments that enhance the acquisition of advanced skills. The purpose of the study was to propose an immersive virtual classroom design that strengthens teachers' pedagogical competencies. A descriptive and exploratory approach was adopted, applying a structured Likert-scale survey to 30 higher education instructors. The survey assessed the feasibility, accessibility, effectiveness, and potential of virtual reality in pedagogical training. The findings indicated a predominantly positive attitude among teachers toward this technology, although concerns regarding costs, infrastructure, and the need for additional training also emerged. Despite these challenges, participants acknowledged that virtual reality could significantly contribute to improving educational quality. In conclusion, while implementing an immersive virtual classroom presents certain difficulties, teachers are willing to adopt this technology if provided with adequate support in infrastructure and training. Virtual reality represents an opportunity to transform teacher preparation in higher education.
