Digital Analysis on Antenna Tilt in Complex Field Based on Artificial Intelligence

Abstract Antenna tilt is studied to adjust Threshold Crossing Height (TCH) in multiple field factors. The algorithm for TCH is presented in detail. The TCH value radiated from the M array Glide Path (GP) antenna system can be raised by two meters or lowered by three meters flexibly. This effect arises from the structure adjustment of glide slope in the near field (NF) by an accurate electronic tilt of the upper antenna horizontal from ϕ= -10° to ϕ= +10°. Except for the situation under standard terrain, the various circumstances with series of backward distance (d= 200 m, 250 m, 300 m, 350 m, 400 m), lateral distance (l= 100 m, 110 m, 120 m, 130 m, 140 m) as well as Forward Slope (FSL= -2°, -1°, 0°, +1°, +2°) have been systematically and digitally researched. Artificial Intelligence (AI) will optimize the bias setting of the GP beacon to meet different terrain requirements. All the calculation results of the various terrain factors have been summarized into one digital table. Furthermore, an intelligent graph is established, from which the result can be drawn directly without any mathematical calculations. Both the table and the graph can realize reverse calculation of input and output. These results will not only be applied to TCH troubleshooting but also to flight check smartly.
