Graphene based Frequency Tunable Octagon-shaped Dielectric Resonator MIMO Antenna (DRMA) for future THz Wireless Application
The research shows a graphene-integrated, reconfigurable MIMO Antenna with Dielectric Resonator (DRMA) for use in future THz wireless technology. The suggested antenna has a graphene layer atop a complex-shaped dielectric resonator (DR) structure with a coaxial feeding mechanism. The reconfigurability of the antenna to cover the THz band is obtained by leveraging the unique electromagnetic graphene’s properties, particularly its tunability through changes in chemical potential. The proposed antenna operates in two frequency bands: 2.219 THz to 2.883 THz (IBW of 0.664 THz) and 3.68 THz to 4.126 THz (IBW of 0.446 THz). Performance metrics—including impedance matching, Gain, isolation between ports, and MIMO antenna performance metrics including ECC, TARC, CCL, and Diversity Gain—were simulated also analyzed using CST simulation software, yielding favorable results. The designed antenna demonstrates an ECC below 0.005, a diversity gain close to 10 dB, stable TARC, and a CCL below 0.4 bps/Hz within the operating frequency bands. Adjusting the chemical potential enables isolation below -20 dB and S11 below -10 dB across the operating frequencies.
