STUDY ON THE PRESSURE CHARACTERISTICS IN LIQUID-FILLED CONTAINER SUBJECTED TO SHAPED CHARGE JET IMPACT

The pressure characteristics caused by shaped charge jet penetration in liquid-filled containers were investigated using the Structural Arbitrary Lagrangian-Eulerian (S-ALE) method in ANSYS/LS-DYNA. A ballistic experiment was conducted in parallel to validate the numerical model. The results indicate that the pressure pulses in the liquid are primarily caused by the propagation and reflection of the shock wave generated by the jet penetration. The peak pressure exhibits an initial increase, followed by a decline, along the ballistic direction. Additionally, along the radial direction, the peak pressure continuously decreases. The research findings provide guidance for the theoretical modeling of pressure waves and the analysis of the structural response of containers.
