ON THE POSSIBILITY OF DETERMINING PIPELINE LEAKAGE LOCATION USING ZHUKOVSKY PRESSURE WAVES

It is shown that the use of the Darcy-Weisbach formula when conducting four pressure measurements on a pipeline allows one to obtain a system of linear equations, the solution of which will make it possible to determine leakage location. The condition for identifying the leakage location with maximum integral reliability is determined. An optimization problem is formulated and solved, according to the solution of which the maximum reliability of determining the leakage location is possible with an inverse relationship between the speed of the transported fluid and the pipeline length. It is concluded that the pipeline leakage location can be determined using Zhukovsky waves with maximum integral reliability in the presence of an inverse relationship between the pipeline length and the speed of the fluid transported through the pipeline.
