REMEDIATION OF CRUDE OIL CONTAMINATED AREAS BY TOPSOIL REMOVAL
When crude oil is spilled on the soil, an oil film is formed, which prevents air from penetrating into the soil. Oil pollution changes the physicochemical properties of the soil, and also affects its temperature, structure, nutrient content and pH, while soil pollution with various organic substances, metals and, in particular, heavy metals is typical. The paper substantiates the use of remediation procedures in the sense of complex optimization, which provides for parallel processing of various soil types. The availability of data on the time dependence of the penetration depth of spilled crude oil into different types of soil makes it possible to formulate and solve the problem of multi-cycle complex remediation of various types of soil contaminated with oil, using the linear programming method. When solving the remediation problem, such factors as the cyclical nature of remediation work in time, the cycles of which are carried out at equal time intervals, as well as the date of the crude oil spill in all cleaned zones with different types of soil should be taken into account. It is noted that the linear programming method with more than two calculated arguments does not have geometric clarity. To display a visual geometric solution to the problem, a simplified interpretation of the problem is considered with the reduction of the number of variables to two, the model solution of which made it possible to determine the desired optimal values of the arguments.
