ENSURING PIPELINE STABILITY
The paper solves the problem of determining the conditions under which a straight pipeline loses stability in the form of an axis bend, as well as the formation of corrugations while the loss of local stability. Solutions are presented for both a flexible rod and a rod of medium flexibility under the adverse effect of a positive temperature difference and internal pressure on the pipeline walls. The condition for limiting the maximum transverse deflections that ensure the stability of the pipeline and the value of the critical length is determined.
