The effect of the parental combination on the offspring productivity in connection with inbreeding
One of the important conditions for increasing milk production is to improve the genetic potential of animals. In Smolensk region, in order to determine effective breeding groups, the productive traits of 927 Brown Swiss cows of nuclei were studied, taking into account the parental combination and the inbreeding degree. The genealogical structure of the breed is represented by four lines and five genealogical groups. Cows with milk yield of 5.645 kg with mild inbreeding had higher milk capacity. The fat content of 4.07 % and a protein content of 3.41 % with remote inbreeding is significantly higher than that with close inbreeding by 0.07 % (p?0.001) and mild inbreeding by 0.05 % (p?0.001). The analysis of parental combinations with close inbreeding shows that the intrastrain breeding of stud bulls of the genealogical group of Concentrate 106157 is effective – the milk yield is higher than average by 540 kg of milk. With close inbreeding, the best results in milk yield and protein content are obtained from the offsprings of stud bulls of the genealogical group of Concentrate 106157 paternally and maternally. The fat content in the parental combination of groups VIII – IX and I – VII, using mild inbreeding, ranged from 4.00 % to 4.36 %. Based on the conducted research, positive yield results were obtained both paternally and maternally.
