Application of mRNA Vaccines in the Treatment of HPV Virus
Human papillomavirus (HPV), as the main virus causing these cancers, accounts for 5.2% of the global cancer rate. Many preventive vaccines against HPV have already appeared on the market, and nowadays more and more researchers are carrying out more studies on therapeutic vaccines against HPV. The purpose of this paper is to discuss the latest research progress on the pathogenesis of the HPV virus and mRNA vaccines by comparing the different types of mRNA vaccines that have emerged for the treatment of HPV and their mechanisms of action, including the RNA-LPX vaccine, the mHTV-02 vaccine, and the mHTV-03E2 vaccine, and to summarize the clinical progress of these three latest mRNA vaccines. This paper summarizes and introduces these three latest mRNA vaccines and the clinical progress of these three mRNA vaccines. It is found that HPV vaccines are still in clinical trials even though mHTV-03E2 has better therapeutic effects among the three vaccines mentioned above and can target HPV16 and HPV18, providing up to four months of immune protection, even so, this type of therapeutic vaccine still needs more clinical validation and testing, and its real application to life still has a long way to go. Even so, this type of therapeutic vaccine still needs more clinical validation and testing, and there is still a long way to go before it can be truly applied to life.
