Methodology for determining the parameters of tubular conveyors operating at mining enterprises, taking into account risks of failures

Abstract The tubular belt conveyor (TBC) as a fully sealed transport equipment is a promising solution for creating environmentally friendly transportation systems. TBC failures can occur when the supporting elements of the framework failure, as well as when the sides of the belt diverges due to its torsion, which leads to dusting and shedding of the load. The article presents the calculation of the risk of failure of a conveyor framework, as well as the methodology for selecting a set of TBC parameters that has a minimum risk of failure. The risk of TBC belt torsion depends on its parameters: the radius of the tubular belt, the stiffness of its cross-section, the distance between the roller supports, the unevenness of the conveyor loading, etc. The torsion of a tubular belt under the action of a torque caused by the uneven loading of the conveyor is considered. The condition for the divergence of the sides of the TBC belt is obtained. The probability of divergence of the sides of the tubular belt, as well as the ratio of its parameters, at which failure occurs with a low probability, is determined.
