Stabilizing belt speed in long-distance conveyors with asynchronous motor-driven systems
Abstract The problem of stabilizing belt speed in long-distance conveyors with asynchronous electric motor is considered in this study. The model of such conveyor is described. A feature of the model is that the belt speed depends on the material mass that moves along the conveyor belt. The proposed model provides to control the belt speed so that the material flow is not greater than the permissible value for a particular case. Belt speed control algorithms are described, which take into account the relationship between belt speed of such transport systems and the material loading factor. It is shown that the equation that determines the value of the belt speed contains areas of unstable solution.
