Risk-forming factors influencing the loss of cross-section of reinforcement elements of vertical mine shafts

Abstract The paper considers a new risk-oriented approach to the control of mine hoisting systems, which provides for the transition from the reactive principle of control to the proactive one. Factors influencing the formation of reinforcement sections in mine shaft with increased wear, which causes the loss of cross-section of reinforcement elements, are revealed. Approaches and research methods of conductors and dividers wear phenomena, as well as assessment of risks of emergency dangerous destruction of reinforcement are determined. The results of experimental research of interaction of hoisting vessels with reinforcement elements of mine shafts are analyzed. It is shown that the cumulative action of risk factors of the loss of cross-section of reinforcement causes mutual strengthening of the degrading effect on the residual strength of reinforcement elements. This significantly increases the risk of emergency dangerous failure of reinforcement elements in limited section of the shaft and accidents with severe consequences. The practical value of the paper consists in a significant reduction of the negative impact of the factors that cause an emergency dangerous loss of cross-section of reinforcement elements of mine shafts.
