Dual‐Band Prismatic Conformal Antenna Array With Beam‐Switching Capability for Omnidirectional Communications

ABSTRACT A dual‐band prismatic conformal antenna array with omnidirectional beam coverage is proposed in this letter. The array consists of 12 antenna elements, which are uniformly arranged along the surface of a prism. By switching the 12 preset beams in sequence, the array achieves continuous 360° coverage. The proposed antenna element adopts a novel layout that integrates the duplexer with two patch antennas, enabling dual‐band operation at 2.32–2.58 and 5.58–6.1 GHz. This design allows for the independent optimization of the structures for each frequency band. Moreover, the duplexer and patch antennas can be easily adapted to other frequency bands through dimensional scaling, offering excellent scalability. For verification, a small‐scale prototype with five elements is fabricated and measured.
