The article explores a practice-oriented approach to training forensic experts at the Volgograd Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. It emphasizes the necessity of adapting the educational process to contemporary challenges, such as staff shortages in law enforcement agencies, time constraints during crime scene inspections, and the active use of advanced technologies by offenders. The study describes innovative methods of specialist training, including the use of experimental laboratories and scientific-practical student groups focused on 3D scanning and printing technologies. The implementation of software platforms such as "Hot Pursuit" and "Crim#34" enhances the quality of practical training by simulating real-life scenarios and assessing theoretical and applied knowledge. Particular attention is given to the development and integration of the “BERKUT” remote expert support system into the educational process. The findings confirm the effectiveness of a practice-oriented training model in developing professional competencies among future forensic experts.
