On the State of American Jewish Literary Studies, 2010–2020

Abstract In 2022, a graduate student surveyed the field of American Jewish literary studies, building a data set to share with researchers. This article offers a set of observations and questions raised by that data, with the aim of sharing the data with colleagues. Our hope is to inspire scholars to examine this data—which we are also making available—and to use it to assess the state of the field and perhaps even offer proposals for the field’s future development.
