USE OF THE PREPARATION “DISCUS COMPOSITUM” (SOLUTION FOR INJECTION) IN THE TREATMENT OF DOGS WITH DISEASES OF THE MUSCULOSKOLE SYSTEM

Pets, dogs and cats, have become an important part of our lives. In conditions of a changeable and unstable external world, pets give people positive emotions, reduce anxiety and are practically family members. Therefore, conscious and responsible pet owners must take on long-term obligations to maintain and provide high-quality veterinary care and treatment. Pets, like people, also have health problems. One of the common problems, in particular in dogs, is diseases of the musculoskeletal system. Treatment of such pathologies includes complex therapy – painkillers, anti-inflammatory drugs, glucosamine, chondroitin, antioxidants, as well as homeopathic drugs. This article presents the results of application the homeopathic remedy “Discus compositum” (solution for injection) in the complex therapy of diseases of the musculoskeletal system of dogs. The study included animals with pathologies of the musculoskeletal system: arthrosis, arthritis, hip dysplasia, intervertebral disc damage. Dogs underwent a course of complex treatment in veterinary clinics in Lviv. The drug "Discus compositum" (solution for injection) was used in the doses and method of administration recommended by the manufacturer. Clinical observations of the animals were carried out by veterinarians and animal’s owners, who recorded changes in the general state of the body and the dynamics of clinical signs of diseases. The safety of the drug was determined by hematological and biochemical indicators of the state of the animal's body, obtained during laboratory studies of blood samples. The analysis of blood morphological indicators and serum biochemical indicators was carried out in a comparative aspect, evaluating changes before and after the use of "Discus compositum" (solution for injection). The results obtained during the study period indicated the normalization of hematological and biochemical indicators, reduction of inflammatory processes and stabilization of the physiological state of the dog's body. Based on the results of conducted studies, observations of animals by veterinarians and owners, we can conclude that the use of the drug "Discus compositum" (solution for injection) is appropriate in the complex therapy of diseases of the musculoskeletal system of dogs.
