When extensive and hostile calcification in the aortic valve may impact a TAVR procedure
• Extensive calcification could potentially exclude severe aortic valve stenosis patients from surgical management. • TAVR could be an alternative for these patients, even though long-term results are needed for further evaluation. • CT scans pre and post TAVR are necessary for identifying calcium and possible culprit for paravalvular leakage.
