A Water‐Stable Homochiral 2D Zn‐MOF With D‐Camphorate‐Derived Dicarboxylate Ligand for Enantioselective Sensing of D/L‐Histidine

ABSTRACT A homochiral 2D Zn‐MOF, [Zn 2 ( D ‐L) 2 (py) 4 ] n ( 1 ), [ D ‐H 2 L = 4,4′‐[[(1R,3S)‐1,2,2‐trimethylcyclopentane‐1,3‐di‐carbonyl]bis(azanediyl)]dibenzoic acid], has been successfully prepared using D ‐camphorate‐derived dicarboxylate ligand under solvothermal conditions. Single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction analysis shows that 1 has an interesting double helix structure based on the binuclear [Zn 2 (CO 2 ) 2 ] units and D ‐L 2− ligands, and then a 2D chiral layer is construed from these neighboring double helix via sharing the binuclear [Zn 2 (CO 2 ) 2 ] units. The solid state circular dichroism (CD) spectra of bulk crystal samples confirm the homochiral nature of 1 . In addition, 1 exhibits high water stability and good luminescent property. The luminescent sensing experiments show that the homochiral 1 could effectively enantioselective sensing D / L ‐histidine, with the high K SV ( D )/K SV ( L ) value of 4.11. Furthermore, the enantiodiscrimination ability of 1 for D / L ‐histidine has also been confirmed by CD recognition experiments, with a large relative difference of 23.73% in CD signals. This work provides a simple strategy for the preparation of homochiral MOFs materials for enantioselective sensing of chiral amino acid molecules.
