El espejo digital: un estudio ecocrítico preliminar de la serie de minificción mexicana La nave insólita

If literature is a mirror in which reality is reflected, what does the absence of the environment within literature indicate to us? This article aims to be an ecocritical analysis of Mexican flash fiction, focusing on the La nave insólita collection published by the editorial La tinta de silencio. Five books from the collection were selected to be included in this analysis: Los libros y la noche by Andrés Galindo, Brevedades infinitas by Marcia Ramos, Feisbuqueo, luego existo by Angélica Santa Olaya, Mínimos deleites by Dina Grijalva y Tragedia en cinco actos by Alejandro Barrón. These authors present us with very distinct microfiction with references to nature, animals, plants and the environment. Some use the environment as a backdrop for their stories while others include animals as characters, but they all focus more on the human existence within a constructed, modern environment rather than a natural one, pointing towards a disconnection from the natural world and a preference for the artificial, the virtual and the anthropocentric.
