The Role of Artificial Intelligence in Enhancing Educational Outcomes for Students with Special Educational Needs

Recent advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) have revolutionized pedagogical approaches for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), offering personalized learning pathways, real-time adaptive feedback and tools to address both academic and social-emotional challenges.Empirical studies demonstrate that AI integration correlates with significant improvements in academic performance (e.g., scores increasing from 65.4 to 74.8) 1 and social-emotional competencies (rising from 70.2 to 80.5) 1 , while predictive analytics systems have reduced dropout rates by enabling early interventions 3,20 .However, successful implementation requires addressing ethical considerations, educator training gaps and the need for human-AI collaboration frameworks 1-7 .
