The Influence of Commemorative Practices on the Local Cultural Space (on the Example of the Bolsherechye Work Settlement in the Omsk Region)
The article examines the practices of commemoration of the Bolsherechye work settlement in the Omsk region from 1985 to the present. The purpose of the work is to identify the degree of influence of commemorative practices on the transformation of the local cultural space. The methodological basis of the research was a new local history. In addition to the materials obtained during the in-situ survey, Internet resources, local periodicals, and research publications were used as sources. The analysis showed that all three levels of the hierarchy matrix of figures and places of memory are present in the memorial space of Bolsherechye. The military memorial layer, which is directly related to the national line of memory policy, does not lose its relevance. There is also a nationwide trend towards turning to antiquity: the construction of churches, the reconstruction of residential architecture of the late XIX - early XX centuries. The figures of memory of local significance are also characteristic of the Bolsherechye. There are still memorials related to maintaining the memory of the Soviet era. The analysis of the commemorative experience of Bolsherechye showed that the preservation and transmission of historical memory in the local space has a positive effect on the formation of a settlement development strategy. The use of a symbolic resource helps to form a special regional image, which is broadcast both to the external environment and inside the region.
