Estimation of the Reference Level (Nerf) of Carbon Stocks by Pantropical Allometric equations in the Classified Forest of Ziama – Republic of Guinea
This research carried out in the Ziama Classified Forest in the Republic of Guinea aims to assess the reference carbon emission level in the sites from the Pantropical allometric models using the forest inventory method. The data were collected in the Ziama classified forest in four (4) zones: Boo, Massadou, Srdou and Zoboroma .CO2 emissions followed an increasing trend during the period 2010-2018.They totaled 175.89 te CO2 in 2010 and evolved without interruption to reach 571.33 te CO2 in 2018.The highest level of sequestration over the study period is observed in 2012 with an average estimate of 269.47 te CO2; while the lowest level obtained is 23.89 teCO2 in 2018.Through the NERF of the said classified forest and using the extrapolation method, emissions from deforestation and forest degradation on a national scale were determined. Thus, the NERF in the Ziama classified forest is 146.69 teCO2 / year on average. For the conservation of forest species in the Ziama classified forest, it is important to resolve the problem of degradation and deforestation.
