Investigating the structural and optical properties of Al MOF ternary nanocomposite incorporating graphene oxide and polyaniline

This work deals with the synthesis of a ternary nanocomposite of polyaniline (PANI) and graphene oxide (GO) with Al-MOF with in situ polymerization process. The prepared nanocomposite was characterized by various techniques including Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), Raman analysis, UV-visible spectrophotometry, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS) and photoluminescence spectroscopy (PL). The structure and surface morphology of the Al-MOF/GO/PANI nanocomposite were confirmed through XRD and SEM analysis. EDS spectrum confirmed the elemental composition of the synthesized nanocomposite. The functional groups present in this prepared nanocomposite were identified by FTIR. The peaks are shifted near the higher wave number, exhibiting the interaction between the nanoparticles and the polymer. The Raman study gave the idea of the [Formula: see text]/[Formula: see text] ratio. The Al-MOF/GO/PANI ternary nanocomposite bandgap was almost 4.00[Formula: see text]eV by PL analysis. While the bandgap was 5.45[Formula: see text]eV using UV-Vis spectrometry. Due to these properties, the prepared ternary nanocomposite can be used in energy storage devices.
