Regulating the Positive Localized Electric Field in Mixed Matrix Membranes by Charge Reversal of ILs‐COF for Boosting CO 2 Separation (Adv. Funct. Mater. 19/2025)
Covalent Organic Frameworks In article number 2419475, Shaofei Wang, Xueqin Li, and co-workers introduce a charge-reversal strategy in ionic liquid-functionalized covalent organic frameworks (ILs-COF) to regulate localized electric fields in mixed matrix membranes (MMMs). The optimized MMMs exhibit enhanced CO2 permeability (≈38%)and selectivity (≈99%) for CO2/CH4 separation, exceeding the Robeson upper bound. Density functional theory reveals electrostatic sieving via selective interaction with CO2, offering a novel design for efficient gas separation.
