The rise of green organizational culture: a bibliometric analysis
Purpose Green organizational culture is a recent research area of growing interest in terms of how organizations can contribute to sustainable development. We aim to contribute to theory and practice by mapping the topic and identifying the main literature streams. Design/methodology/approach To this end, a bibliometric analysis was carried out which focused on the period between 2011 and 2023, using the Scopus database and the VOSviewer software. Findings The results reveal that this research area has undergone a significant positive evolution, with an increase in studies supporting the importance of this construct. Three clusters were found that underscore the strategic role of green organizational culture, integrating both internal and external perspectives. Originality/value This bibliometric review on green organizational culture shows not only its emergence based on organizational culture theories but also its connection with internal green human resources management practices, and external adaptation issues, such as green marketing, green products, and consumer behavior.
