MULTIVARIATE GUN ACCURACY FUNCTION
In modern warfare targets must be engaged quickly with a minimum expenditure of ammunition and barrel wear. When a projectile arrives at the exit plane of them muzzle, its trajectory has already been adversely affected by rattle space between the barrel and projectile, unbalance and barrel motion. It is on an unintended trajectory. Any inclination to the intended trajectory is anokufued bt nyzzke gas flow over the projectile. The inclination causes a lifting force and velocity component transverse to the trajectory. We identify four distinct time periods in the motion of projectiles from guns: In-bore period, passage through the exit plane, intermediate ballistics, and atmosheric flight. We work out CEPs for may sources of error and combine them into a system level CEP. We use multivarite calculus and symbolic processing.
