Performance Analysis of 3D Radio Environment Mapping with Path Classification and Kriging
For the application of wireless networks to unmanned aerial vehicles, which are expected to be utilized in next-generation mobile communications, it is essential to have a precise understanding of the radio environment in order to ensure highly reliable communication connections. In this study, we expand the radio environment maps, traditionally used for understanding wireless environments, into 3D space. To achieve this, we performed kriging-based interpolation of observed values using line-of-sight judgment from 3D maps. We then evaluated and validated the accuracy and effectiveness of this method.
