TOWARDS AN EFFECTIVE APPLICATION OF ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT IN UNIVERSITY LIBRARIES

The research aims to study the application and evaluation of electronic management in university libraries.It also aims to identify the obstacles that prevent the application of electronic administration in order to investigate them and to find appropriate solutions to overcome these obstacle.The study relied on the descriptive analytical approach using a case study of three faculties at the University of Misrata: Engineering, Education, and Information Technology.The primary data for the study was collected through a questionnaire.The data was analysed and processed statistically using the Package Program for Social Sciences (SPSS).A sample was distributed to the heads of the departments and college library employees within the University of Misrata.The research also adopted the observation method to identify the workflow mechanism within libraries in the three faculties.The results of the study concluded that the obstacles to applying electronic management in the libraries in the research sample are four main obstacles: organisational, technical, human and financial obstacles.
