Snare assisted technique to navigate complex anatomy in aortic arch diseases
Background: Aortic arch aneurysm or acute aortic syndrome involving the arch are life-threatening conditions with a high mortality rate if not detected and treated promptly. Currently, in addition to open surgery, endovascular intervention has become a viable treatment option for certain cases with good outcomes. However, for complex aortic arch anatomies, such as severe angulation, twisting, or Loại III aortic arch, endovascular procedures can be challenging. To overcome these difficulties, various advanced techniques have been developed and successfully applied, one of which is the snare-assisted technique to facilitate endovascular intervention. Objectives: This report presents two cases of successful snare-assisted endovascular interventions for aortic arch diseases, highlighting key procedural insights. Methods: We describe two cases of complex TAA treated using snare techniques—one via the femoral artery and the other via the brachial artery. Patients were monitored through follow-up visits with imaging studies and pre- and post-procedure CT assessments. Conclusions: The snare technique proves to be an effective assistive method for treating complex TAA.
