Abstract: This research aims to uncover the effectiveness of applying the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model on critical thinking skills in Arabic language teaching, as well as the learning outcomes of students' understanding of critical thinking skills before and after implementing learning using the PBL model. The type of this research is quantitative research using the Quasi-experimentalNonquivalent Control Group Design.) The sample for this research was ninth grade students at the school, with a total of 68 students. Researchers divided The researchers divided the students into two groups, namely ninth grade (1) as the experimental group consisting of 34 students and ninth grade (2) as the control group consisting of 34 students. The experimental the experimental group was presented with a critical thinking skill learning treatment using the Problem-Based Learning model Problem-based learning model. Each group was tested twice, namely a pre-test and a post-test. The data collection method included tests, interview, and observation. The results of this research prove that the application of the PBL model to the skill of critical thinking skill was effective. This is evidenced by the results of the test results of the two groups, where the for the experimental group was 81.85, while for the control group it was 57.47. In addition, the sig score (2-tailed) is 0.118. This result is greater than 0.05, which means that the the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted, thus it can be concluded that the learning outcomes using the has experienced a significant increase. The N-Gain test score shows that the effectiveness of the model was moderate with a value of 0.4. Keywords: Critical Thinking Skills, Effectiveness, Problem-Based Learning Model
