APRENDENDO GEOMETRIA PLANA ATRAVÉS DA LEITURA E CONSTRUÇÃO DE HISTÓRIAS EM QUADRINHOS

The study sought to support a pedagogical proposal as an alternative to improve the teaching and learning of Flat Geometry. To this end, we seek to answer the following question: how do students learn Flat Geometry through the construction and reading of comic books involving topics from this thematic unit? We counted on the participation of two high school classes from a community school to develop the activities. The research, of a qualitative nature, brings interesting reflections on current teaching practices that involve the teaching of Geometry, in addition to showing historical educational movements that caused an abandonment in the teaching of Geometry in Brazil, which partly justifies the failure in its learning due to a long period in the country. Various aspects that encourage and enable the application of the suggested pedagogical practice in the classroom were explored, seeking to show tools such as free websites and applications intended for the production of comics, examples of comics created in research, analysis and testimonials from students participating in the research on experiences during the creation process and after reading the productions, in addition to highlighting the many advantages of using comic books in learning Flat Geometry topics, the main one being the opportunity to make the student recognize oneself as the main agent in the process of forming one’s own knowledge.
