A inclusão de pessoas com deficiência visual nas escolas: desafios e superações
This article aims to deepen studies on the inclusion of visually impaired students in schools. It is necessary to reflect on how visually impaired children can be inserted in the school environment, receiving adequate educational care that helps in their teaching and learning process. Nowadays, it is no longer possible to question inclusion or the way it was implemented, it is necessary to keep in mind that it has been a reality for a long time. This requires commitment, paradigm shifts, as well as curricular, structural, and attitudinal adaptations. The study was guided by the following objectives: to reflect on the conceptions and characteristics historically and socially constructed in relation to the visually impaired person; Present some procedures, precautions and adaptations for the inclusion of visually impaired children. This research was carried out in 2024, characterized as exploratory research, through a bibliographic study. Several authors were used to making theoretical contributions to the study. Through this study, it is possible to verify the need for training, information and commitment on the part of all those involved in the care of the students, aiming to meet their special educational needs. After all, access to school is a right of equality. In this sense, it is necessary to ensure the conditions of accessibility to pedagogical resources, the means of locomotion, communication and school inclusion. It should not be forgotten that the responsibility in this process lies with educators, managers, family members and the State, as they must create the necessary conditions for the realization of the right to inclusion and education.
