Networked distributed storages for data and digital technologies in geological prospecting, mining and management of mining projects
This article explores the role of networked distributed storages for data and digital technologies in geological prospecting, mining and management of mining projects. An extensive set of empirical data that covers key performance indicators of digital solutions was analyzed to identify significant opportunities for enhancing the accuracy of geological prospecting, cutting costs, optimizing production processes, and reducing environmental risks. It was found that implementation of intelligent data storage and processing systems can improve the accuracy of geological prospecting up to 90-95%, increase mining productivity by 18-27% and reduce specific greenhouse gas emissions by 15-20%. Recommendations for upscaling the best digitalization practices to different types of fields and stages of their development are offered with due consideration of the industry's and the country's specific features.
