A Study on the Impact of Artificial Intelligence on The Accounting Profession: A Study of MSME Sector of Telangana

This study examines the transformative impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on the accounting profession within the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector in Telangana, India. By analyzing the adoption of AI-driven tools in financial reporting, auditing, and decision-making processes, the research highlights enhanced efficiency, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness in accounting practices. The study also explores challenges, including technological adoption barriers, skill gaps, and data security concerns. Through surveys and interviews with MSME accountants and business owners, the findings underscore AI’s potential to streamline operations while emphasizing the need for upskilling and robust cyber security measures. The results provide insights for policymakers and industry stakeholders to foster AI integration in the MSME sector.
