EBSTEIN'S ANOMALY IN PREGNANCY: A CASE REPORT OF SUCCESSFUL MANAGEMENT AND OUTCOMES
Ebstein's anomaly is a rare congenital heart defect involving malformation of the tricuspid valve and right ventricle. Pregnancy in women with this condition poses significant risks to both mother and foetus, particularly in the presence of cyanosis and heart failure. We report the case of a 32-year-old, unregistered primigravida at 36 weeks of gestation, who presented with palpitations, breathlessness, and hypoxia. She was found to have undiagnosed Ebstein's anomaly with moderate to severe tricuspid regurgitation, right-to-left shunting, and cyanosis. Multidisciplinary management included stabilization, emergency caesarean section delivery, and subsequent definitive surgical repair, with favourable maternal and neonatal outcomes.
