ADOECIMENTO PSÍQUICO DE PROFESSORES: ANÁLISE E REFLEXÕES A PARTIR DA LITERATURA
Mental illness among teachers has been a growing concern due to the adverse conditions faced in the school environment. Occupational stress, work overload, student indiscipline, lack of professional recognition, and precarious teaching conditions are factors that contribute to the development of mental disorders, such as anxiety, depression, burnout, and panic syndrome. This study aims to analyze the relationship between panic syndrome and teacher illness, highlighting the factors that contribute to the development of this disorder and its implications for mental health and professional performance, based on reflections and evidence from the literature. This is a qualitative, exploratory, and descriptive study based on a literature review on the relationship between panic syndrome and teacher illness. Panic syndrome, like other psychological disorders, including burnout syndrome, arises as a consequence of overwork, professional devaluation, institutional pressures, and the difficulties faced in the daily teaching routine. The results indicate that the lack of institutional policies aimed at teachers' mental health aggravates the problem, making it essential to implement prevention and intervention strategies. Thus, the research reinforces the need for measures that value teacher well-being, promoting healthier and more sustainable school environments.
