SOMATIC EXPRESSIONS AS MARKERS OF THE PHENOMENON OF CORPOREALITY IN A LITERARY TEXT
The purpose of this article is to expose the role of somatic expressions as a means of artistic speech and their systematization as markers of the artistic phenomenon of corporeality. The object of study is somatic expressions in fiction texts. The subject of the study is to determine and disclose the typological features of the mechanisms of action of а corporeality phenomenon in terms of reflecting the characteristic features of the character’s appearance and internal state with the help of somatic expressions. The material of the study was more than 500 word combinations selected from several works by Olga Kobylianska, Volodymyr Vynnychenko, Lesіa Ukrainka and Anton Chekhov. These language units, based on the typology presented in the work, are direct and indirect somatic expressions. Within the framework of an integrated scientific approach, which includes elements of anthropocentric, system-structural and comparative-historical scientific paradigms, universal methods of analysis and synthesis, typological and quantitative, are applied. The procedures of some special methods are also used: cultural-historical, aesthetic, discursive, psychological, cognitive, anthropological, socio-historical, hermeneutical analysis, descriptive method. As a result of a comprehensive analysis of direct and indirect somatic expressions, it is proposed to distinguish two macrogroups of markers of bodily behavior according to the basic feature of direct (direct, somatic) and indirect (indirect, potential, adjacent to somatic) expression of bodily behavior of an artistic character. Each group gravitates towards certain varieties of somatic expressions. The main conclusion is the thesis that somatic expressions in a literary text are typologically systematized and play an important role as one of the means of artistic speech expressivity.
