Investigating the effects of bamboo dust on ceramic tile properties through partial substitution of white dholpur stone powder

The aim of this article was to fabricate and characterization of bamboo dust (BD) with white dholpur stone powder (WDSP) in ceramic tile manufacturing. Bamboo dust was varied from 0%, 5%, 6%, 7%, and 8%. WDSP was varied from 12%, 7%, 6%, 5%, and 4%. The ceramic tiles were fabricated by a hydraulic compressed uniaxial pressing machine at 24 MPa. Water absorption, ignition loss, shrinkage rates, breaking strength, modulus of rupture, etc. were investigated in this work. X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) were used to determine crystalline structure, chemical composition, and overall morphology of ceramic tiles. The result revealed that the maximum linear shrinkage was obtained in WA-5-IV (5.07%). While the maximum rupture modulus was depicted in WA-4 (49.93 (N/mm 2 )).
