Study on the static performances of tilting pad journal bearing based on the turbulence TEHD coupling model
The accurate prediction of the behavior of tilting pad journal bearing (TPJB) relies on considering the thermal effect, deformation, and turbulence. This paper presents a turbulence thermoelastohydrodynamic (TEHD) coupling model for TPJB and validates its accuracy through comparison with experimental data. The study provides a series of results to examine the impact of various deformations and turbulence on the static performance of TPJB. The study can help to improve the prediction accuracy of TPJB characteristics. The results indicate that it is imperative to account for the effects of turbulence, elastic deformation, and thermal deformation in the design and analysis of TPJB.
