Nonlinear vibration investigation of nanocomposite multilayer perovskite membranes

Abstract Perovskite membranes have great potential in solar cells and flexible electronics due to their excellent light absorption capabilities, efficient charge transport properties, and mechanical flexibility. Owing to the extremely thin structural properties of perovskite membranes and the inevitable mechanical stress and deformation during operation, understanding their vibration characteristics and dynamic response in working conditions is of great significance to their practical application and future development. This study examines the nonlinear vibration and dynamic response of nanocomposite multilayer perovskite (NMP) membranes, incorporating the graphene nanoplatelets (GPLs) reinforced composite (GPLRC) as a substrate layer. The membranes' mechanical and dielectric characteristics are modeled within the framework of the Neo-Hookean model, strain energy function, as well as dielectric coupling theory. The governing equations are formulated through the energy approach and discretized using Taylor series expansion (TSE) and differential quadrature (DQ) methods. Subsequent analysis employs the incremental harmonic balance (IHB) method and arc-length algorithm to explore parametric influences on nonlinear vibration behaviors. Results indicate that membrane's thickness, stretching ratio and GPLRC layer properties significantly affect the mechanical stiffness, frequency characteristics and dynamic responses of the NMP membranes, particularly under varying electrical voltages. By analyzing the interactions between mechanical, electrical, and material properties, the results from this study can contribute to the design of more efficient and stable perovskite-based flexible devices across various engineering fields.
