Climate Watch NDC Tracker: Estimating global and national GHG emissions based on emissions reduction targets in countries’ Nationally Determined Contributions

This technical note discusses the methodology used by Climate Watch to estimate future global and country-level GHG emissions based on Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs). It outlines the data sources and approach for estimating economy-wide emissions for countries. Global emissions are aggregated from country-level estimates, accounting for emissions not covered by NDCs. The data will be published and updated through the Climate Watch NDC Tracker.
