The M-Riccati equation: fast iterations for the minimal nonnegative solution

Four iterations have investigated the find a special nonnegative matrix solution to the M-Riccati equation. Recently, Guan and Wang have proposed an effective iteration, named GALI iteration, for determining a special algebraic matrix equation. We extended their proposition with two new modifications. We aim to compete with the results obtained via GALI iteration. Here, we provide numerical experiments to compare the new iterations with those considered by Guan and Wang. Our analysis and comparisons confirm the proposed algorithms successfully compete with existing ones.

Abstract

Four iterations have investigated the find a special nonnegative matrix solution to the M-Riccati equation. Recently, Guan and Wang have proposed an effective iteration, named GALI iteration, for determining a special algebraic matrix equation. We extended their proposition with two new modifications. We aim to compete with the results obtained via GALI iteration. Here, we provide numerical experiments to compare the new iterations with those considered by Guan and Wang. Our analysis and comparisons confirm the proposed algorithms successfully compete with existing ones.
