THE CONCEPT OF AWARENESS IN CEMIL MERIÇ’S THE LIGHT COMES FROM THE EAST

Cemil Meri is considered one of the greatest sociologists and intellectuals in Turkish literature and has an important position among them as a well as in the intellectual creativity in Turkey during the twentieth century.He was born on 12 December 1916 in Hatai Province on the borders with Syria.In addition to his works that were abut twelve and several translations, he was an intellectual person and ideal scientist who shed light on the history of Turkish intellectual scene.He died in Istanbul on 13 of June 1987.He was buried in Karaca Ahmed cemetery, one of the famous cemeteries in boundaries of Istanbul.His novel "The Light Comes from the East" is an intellectual and scientific novel that was first published in Istanbul in 1984.
