A PROPOSED CONCEPT TO ACTIVATE EDUCATIONAL INDICATORS IN IMPROVING SCHOOL PERFORMANCE IN POST-PRIMARY SCHOOLS IN OMAN

Our modern world relies heavily on the cognitive revolution, scientific logic and technological advances, whose effects have been reflected in various areas of life, business and production sectors.The concept of quality has become dominated and forced to use indicators as a modern method to measure and determine the level of institutional performance, and then planning to develop and improve it .This scientific and technological revolution has influenced cognitive education, and modern educational systems have become dependent on educational indicators to improve school performance.Sophisticated learning always strives to keep pace with the changes and modern trends in development and change.The educational system is an open system with the surrounding environment, and can be evaluated and improved performance through the development of inputs, processes and outputs, as the emergence of the economic perspective of education and its contribution to social development introduced the concept of effectiveness in dealing with educational problems; and this naturally led to the evaluation for improvement development; it turned out that the educational process using a variable manner that a large number of elements (school size, means and methods, the efficiency of teachers....), which differ in their costs and in their impact on the results of the pupils; and here educational indicators have emerged; and which have a significant role in evaluating the performance System and internal effectiveness and external effectiveness, as used in the planning of the system and rationalize decision makers in the formulation of precise objectives of the system; and thus improve school performance in the light of evaluation and treatment of reality and planning for the future.Accordingly, the Sultanate of Oman has tended to keep pace with this global development wave, through the development of educational indicators in 2016, which is one of the smart electronic systems connected to the databases of the Sultanate of Oman Educational Portal;
