THEORIES OF DIGITAL SOCIOLOGY AND THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THEIR INTERPRETATION OF THE ARAB REALITY TOWARDS A NEW PARADIGM FOR UNDERSTANDING VIRTUAL REALITY
Digital sociology is concerned with studying digital social phenomena that refer to everything that is produced through the interaction of individuals in the virtual field, that is, the digital space resulting from technological development and the emergence of the Internet. This science provides a set of theories and explanatory models that approximate the social phenomena resulting from connection to the Internet. This enables the researcher to provide an accurate analysis that keeps pace with social phenomena in their digital transformations with the ability to predict their paths and fate.Digital sociology has tried to go beyond classical sociological theories and develop new theories that suit the specificity of the digital social phenomenon. In this article, we will highlight the explanatory effectiveness of three theories in digital sociology.Network theory, connection and separation theory, and then algorithm theory. We will examine the scientific efficiency of these theories in analyzing digital social phenomena, by examining their concepts, analyzing their hypotheses, and comparing them with digital reality.
