D-33 | Evaluating the Impact of Malnutrition on Outcome after PCI in Octogenarian with Atrial Fibrillation: A TriNetX-based Retrospective Study
After matching, demographic characteristics were comparable, with no significant differences in age, gender, or ethnicity (all p > 0.5).Oneyear risks of upper GI bleeding (28.66% vs. 7.45%; p < 0.0001; risk ratio: 3.85) and all-cause mortality (19.92% vs. 15.55%;p 0.024; risk ratio: 1.28) were higher in EV patients, while MACEs were similar (p 0.501).Predictors of one-year mortality included male gender (HR 1.49), age (HR 1.05), diabetes (HR 1.49), INR 3 (HR 1.42), creatinine 2 mg/ dL (HR 2.50), and portal hypertension (HR 1.64; all p < 0.0001).Protective factors were hypertension, clopidogrel, ticagrelor, carvedilol, metoprolol, and calcium channel blockers (HR 0.62-0.90;all p < 0.0001).Conclusions: STEMI patients with EV face significantly higher one-year risks of upper GI bleeding and mortality compared to non-EV patients, despite similar rates of cardiovascular events.Tailored strategies are crucial to mitigate bleeding risks and enhance survival in this high-risk group.
