C-19 | Comparative Efficacy and Safety of WATCHMAN FLX Versus WATCHMAN 2.5 for the Left Atrial Appendage Closure In Patients With Non-Valvular Atrial Fibrillation: An Updated Meta-Analysis
The WATCHMAN is a device designed to completely seal the left atrial appendage (LAA) in patients with atrial fibrillation and atrial flutter who are unable to tolerate long-term anticoagulant therapy due to risk of severe bleeding. The newer generation WATCHMAN FLX has been upgraded to address the various shortcomings of the first-generation WATCHMAN 2.5, including peri device leak, device-related thrombus (DRT), and challenging implantation in intricate LAA anatomy. This meta-analysis aims to compare the procedural and midterm outcomes of the two generations of WATCHMAN.
