D-9 | Troponin Trends in Patients with Chronic Kidney Disease Presenting with Angina: Correlating Changes in Troponin-T Levels With Significant Coronary Artery Disease on Coronary Angiogram
Coronary artery disease (CAD) is a leading cause of death in chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients. CKD patients often have elevated troponins at baseline, making the diagnosis of acute coronary syndrome (ACS) a dilemma. Our study assessed the relationship between the degree of change in troponin and presence of significant CAD on coronary angiograms in CKD patients.
