ANALYSIS OF DAMAGE AND DESTRUCTION OF RESIDENTIAL BUILDING AS A CONSEQUENCE OF COMBAT ACTIONS ON THE EXAMPLE OF SEVERODONETSK

Housing is the main component of well-being and an important condition for the development of modern society, and its loss as a result of hostilities is a serious challenge for society. Determining the degree of damage to residential buildings and the subsequent restoration of the territories of residential areas of cities destroyed as a result of hostilities is an important urban planning task. The process of restoration and reconstruction of residential areas will begin after the end of hostilities, because only then is it possible to get a real picture of the damage and destruction of residential buildings and city infrastructure. On the basis of statistical data, an analysis of the existing housing development in the city of Severodonetsk was made at the beginning of 2022: 72% of the housing stock was in a satisfactory condition and needed only planned ongoing repairs. The other 28% of residential buildings are buildings that have been built mostly over 50 years, i.e. I and partly II planning districts of the city. Using the example of the city of Severodonetsk, a set of factors affecting the damage and destruction of buildings during hostilities was formed, namely: the condition of the building immediately before the damage; structural scheme and materials of the supporting and enclosing structures of the building; type of ammunition; place of impact; presence of fire after hitting ammunition. Using descriptive and analytical methods, statistical data and analysis of literary sources, the amount of damage in territories where active hostilities are ongoing or temporarily occupied and physical inspection of which is limited or impossible due to danger, the extent of damage to residential buildings was assessed and classified according to categories in accordance with current regulatory documents. Research on the damage and destruction of residential buildings in the city of Severodonetsk during hostilities in 2022 was carried out with the aim of organizing urgent work to eliminate their dangerous consequences, surveying damaged residential buildings and infrastructure facilities, determining damage and losses, as well as regarding the further organization of strategic planning post-war reconstruction and development of the city.
