METHODOLOGICAL PRINCIPLES OF INTEGRATION OF ENVIRONMENTAL STANDARDS IN TERRITORIAL PLANNING OF REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Given the modern challenges of sustainable development, the integration of environmental standards into territorial planning is extremely relevant to ensure a balance between economic development and environmental protection. In countries with a transition economy, such as Ukraine, there is a need to improve the methodological basis for the implementation of environmental standards at the regional level, which will create prerequisites for the preservation of natural resources and the provision of a quality environment for the population. The problem lies in the insufficient adaptability of the existing environmental standards to the needs of territorial planning and the lack of effective tools for their integration into regional development processes. The article examines the main aspects of the integration of environmental indicators into the process of regional planning, which is a relevant topic in the conditions of growing pressure on the environment and the need for sustainable development of territories. In today's world, where environmental problems are becoming more and more visible, the integration of environmental principles into regional policy and planning is an important step towards achieving harmony between economic development and conservation of natural resources. As part of the work, an assessment of the effectiveness of the introduction of ecological principles into regional planning is carried out, in particular, the criteria for the success of the integration of ecological indicators are determined. Attention is also focused on the importance of involving all interested parties in the planning process, which can significantly increase the effectiveness and acceptability of the decisions made. The results of the study confirm the need to develop methodological approaches to the integration of environmental indicators into regional planning. The proposed recommendations can become the basis for the formation of sustainable and effective regional strategies that take into account ecological aspects, which, in turn, will contribute to improving the quality of life of the population and preserving the natural environment for future generations.
